Hello Everyone! We have been so busy getting all the items picked out for our home, I realized that we haven’t updated you in a while. On our last post we showed you the Foundation to our home. Once the concrete for our foundation was poured, it was time for the framing to begin!
Happy Tuesday all! Since this is the week of Christmas i have to slide in one more of my Christmas designs from this year. When someone enters my home, my goal is to always have an eye catching entrance or entry way that makes them feel comfortable, warm and welcome. This design is good for a small space, or nice size area, the design mixes some modern black and white prints, with clean white looks, mixed with a christmas feel, and you know i can’t help but always add something with sparkles. I hope you enjoy!
Here is what i used for this Christmas Entrance design:
-3 small wreaths
-2 inch wide black ribbon (one spool)
-4 Walmart 8 x 10 picture frames
– 3 silver sparkle ornaments
-1 6ft. piece of garland
-1 glass vase
-1 package of silver small ball ornaments
I started with hanging a strip of 2 inch black ribbon, then centered the 3 wreaths. I wanted to hide the nail on the top, so i tied and added a bow at the top of the wreaths.
Next, I printed 4 of my fav pics from one of my fav local gals; Exposure Photography. Bless this girl for braving these Christmas pics while one child attempted running into the road, while the other one screamed after him giggling, followed by my husband running, and me doing the Peggy Bundy run in my stiletto’s. I know you can imagine! LOL! I framed these pics in my Walmart find frames which i spray painted white. Oh, and i forgot to mention at this point i had no sparkle so i added the ornaments with a glue gun on the bottom of each wreath.
The foyer table was next in line, and i kept the burlap runner i had on display before, added my garland along the back side wrapped with lights. I had a nativity set that i painted white to look new again, re-used a frame i already had in my home to display this free chalkboard print that i love called “O Come Let Us Adore Him”.
I then filled my vase with my small ball ornaments, brought in a few branches to stick in the vase to create a “giving tree” for our Advent project this year. A giving tree is something i wanted to have to start teaching our children that during Advent and the Christmas season it is better to give than to receive. Not just with gifts, but with manners, nice compliments, friendship, and love. So every day your kiddos “give” something like that to someone they get to write what they did or “you” write what they did since our kids are so little, and hang it on the tree. It’s simple and they seriously get excited about it! I then picked up a piece from my new fav local store from one of of my friends, Tonya who has an awesome blog For the Love of Family & Home . My design needed a bit of color, and a little bit of Merry Christmas!
Here is the Christmas entry way design complete! Merry Christmas Everyone!
