There is nothing better than fresh, out of the oven, pie! Even though you are supposed to wait to let the pie cool before you cut into it, its actually better scolding hot with a big scoop of ice-cream on top to cool it down to an eatable temp. My family loves pie, there are very few types of pies we won’t eat. But it would be nice to be able to make different pies all at once, without the hassle of making several pies all at once! It was a hassle, until now. With a cupcake pan, you can make easily serve-able pies. You can use both mini-cupcakes and standard size cupcake pies. The mini cupcake pans make bite-size pies, that are 60% crust. Standard size cupcake pans make a single serving size pie that still gives you a good amount of yummy pie crust, but without neglecting the filling. I am not a fan of making anything out of the box or can, but knowing how difficult it is to get a good consistency pie crust, I will make an exception.
After having my second child about 7 months ago i have had to learn to plan even more than with my first child. Working full time, two children, and a husband that travels out of town for work some days i have about zero free time to figure out what I’m doing the day of the event. So i have to give a shout out to a fabulous friend Amanda in my bible study group who recommended this link to a fabulous website called: www.emeals.com
Hello everyone! Today i want to share with you what we experienced in finding and purchasing the land to build our home. We have experienced two different types of “finding the right land”. About 5 years ago when we moved to Carmel, Indiana we were looking around trying to find land. Well, no one explained that in that just north of Indianapolis it was approx. $30,000-$40,000 for not even a quarter of an acre to build your home. And if you are like me and need a visual: After our house was built we had 12ft. on each side of our house then our neighbors house, so technically only 6ft. was ours, approx. 3 strips to mow in the back and almost 3 strips in the front yard oh, and don’t worry they plant one tree for you right smack dab in the middle of your front yard right in front of your house. Geez! Anyway, we started to shift our mindset to be practical and we stopped looking at custom homes. We then went to large corp. builders who build mostly the whole subdivision and have about 5 or 6 different styles of houses to choose from. So basically you just drive around the neighborhood and say “i want that one”, they tell you if the house you want will fit on the lot and thats it. Done! They take care of water, sewer, electric, driveway, all the permits and surveying.
Happy Sunday everyone!!
When I became pregnant with our first child I was so excited to register for all the baby items. We arrive at Babies r us and apparently everyone else had the same idea. We had to wait for a scanner and the only thing that was worse than it being 130 degrees in the store mixed with about 50 prego girls was the mothers that were with them. Do not get in the way of the Grandma-to-be it will get ugly! When i started scanning items i scanned so much stuff that i thought was cute and sweet and oh i got to have that and i just knew i would use everything on the recommended list…….and stop, I’ll just stop there because i soon found out you won’t. Im not knocking the pre-populated or recommended list they give you but seriously i didn’t use half of it and honestly as a new mom with a newborn you learn quick its about what works best not necessarily what looks the best or is the most expensive. These top 10 items have been a life saver with both of my children and the most practical. They are all reasonably priced and i even still use some of these items with my 4 year old. I hope this will help any mom out there who is thinking, “what do i really need when its not all about rainbows and butterflies”?
Whoopie Pies have been around since around 1920. The origin of the name is said to come from the pie being packed in a farmers lunch pale, once he realized the treat his wife had packed, his initial reaction was “whoopie.” A whoopie pie is essentially a cake based round cookie or cake with a cream filled center. Baking and working with the cake style of whoopie pies can be a bit difficult as you can easily overcook them and they end up dry. They are also more difficult to handle when adding the creamy center. This recipe uses a red velvet cake-mix cookie recipe.
