I LOVE planning parties, i start way in advance just to make sure i can think of every DIY or pinterest worthy projects i can find! A few weeks ago i wrote about my little guy turning the big 1, so here is the decor for his vintage baseball theme and I would love to share with you pics of the party and of course how i DIY’d my way through!
Here is a look of food table, we had two parties so i rearranged my table for the second party and created two looks with the same decor.
Here are a few details from the food table:
I used just cotton red fabric from our local Jo-Ann Fabric store for the table cloth, and snagged a pallet for free took it apart put the pieces back together like a puzzle and nailed them to a thick piece of wood, then added a dark stain i found at Lowe’s(courtesy of my helping husband) .
Next up, was the dessert table of course. My fabulous mother-in-law created and made the vintage tier baseball cake, topped with a real baseball that we signed our little boy’s signature on and his number (well what we thought it would be lol). She created the half baseball smash cake for him to dig into at his party, and i loved her finishing touch of dusting all the sweets on the dessert table with a tiny bit of cocoa for the instant vintage look!
I will give all the credit for the mini-baseballs on a stick that were oreo’s dipped in chocolate by my hubby, and i iced the stitching on them. My husband also needs to have all the credit for our take home gifts for our guests, he made his family secret round sugar cookies as baseballs. My mother-in-law then packed them in their chevron bag and tied on the tag which i found on etsy as a printable. The tags, happy birthday banner, our invites, flags for the straws, the framed happy birthday signs, cupcake covers, and water bottle banners were all part of an awesome printable package from and Etsy shop named PARTePRINTS Rachel is awesome she was quick to respond, and customized to what i wanted perfectly. Check her out she has so many other themes also!
Last, but not least here is the banner i placed around his high chair made from fabric, burlap, and one of the printable’s i mentioned above for his number 1!
Thank you everyone for reading ! I loved creating this theme for my little guy’s 1st birthday, and hope you enjoyed our DIY attempt at a Vintage baseball party. Please share with your friends and we welcome your feedback and comments! Thank you!
